Under Skip Cox's leadership, Exhibit Surveys, Inc., has achieved double-digit growth as the premier intelligence and measurement resource in the events marketing industry.
Skip focuses strategically on client development and serves as the highly visible face of Exhibit Surveys, Inc. in the marketplace. This affords him the opportunity to translate emerging needs of clients into the next diagnostic tools for Exhibit Surveys to develop. He also is heavily involved with the direct application of these new tools to enhance the strategic and tactical planning of exhibition and event organizers and exhibitors, for both corporations and associations.
Skip is much sought after as a speaker at major trade shows and professional association meetings, and is often invited to present Exhibit Surveys' research findings at events in the U.S., Latin America, Europe, and Asia. He also frequently contributes articles to publications and academic journals serving marketing and event marketing fields.
Skip joined Exhibit Surveys in 1971 as Assistant Survey Director, and was promoted in 1973 to Survey Director and in 1978 to Vice President. In 1994, Skip became President, and his responsibilities subsequently grew to include Chief Operating Officer. On Jan. 1, 2005, he became CEO.
His involvement with industry associations is extensive. He presently serves on the boards of CEMA-The I.T. Event Marketing Community and the International Association for Exhibition Management (IAEM), and recently rotated off the board of Trade Show Exhibitors Association (TSEA).
Executive Vice President
Ian Sequeira joined Exhibit Surveys, Inc., in 1985 as assistant survey director, vice president in 1994, and executive vice president in 2008. Since then, he has been heading up the firm's research operations, helping to develop the most extensive and effective corporate and organizer measurement programs offered in the exhibition industry. These include specialized research analytics, such as "fit analysis," which measures the alignment of exhibitors and attendees at shows and new show feasibility.
Ian has been instrumental, as well, in Exhibit Survey's international work, designing and managing research projects in Brazil, Switzerland, Singapore, Australia, Japan, and Germany. Along with research, his responsibilities at Exhibit Surveys include recruitment, human resource functions and overall company administration.
He is a well-respected speaker and instructor for industry associations, and an active member in the International Association for Exhibition Management (IAEM), Healthcare Convention Exhibitors Association (HCEA), Trade Show Exhibitors Association (TSEA), and Marketing Research Association (MRA). He also contributes to Exhibitor Magazine's annual "Most Remembered Exhibits" and "Trade Show Trends" articles.
Ian received a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from Allegheny College, Meadville, Penn., and an MBA from the American University in Washington D.C.
He is an avid tennis player and loves to travel internationally. He also has a keen interest in the performing arts, and is a voracious reader.
Vice President of Operations and Secretary/Treasurer
Named Vice President of Operations and Secretary/Treasurer of Exhibit Surveys, Inc., in 2008, Debbie supports corporate financial management/accounting, and staff, office, and building operations.
Her first job with Exhibit Surveys as a typist, came when she was in high school. She subsequently became a teacher of home economics for five years. In 1985, she again found her way to Exhibit Surveys, when she was seeking part-time work while raising a family around the block from the office. In ten years as a full-time staffer, she was promoted to project manager, taking on projects, traveling to events, meeting with clients and writing reports. She has served as Director of Operations for more than eight years, supervising the data entry and coding staff.
Debbie received a Bachelor of Science degree from Albright College, Reading, Pa.
Married since 1973 and with two children, she participates in fund-raising walks for various charities.
Executive Director of Research
With Exhibit Surveys, Inc. since 1988, Jan Goldsmith has moved from assistant project manager to project manager to research director and to her present position managing the design and analysis of research projects, the research staff, and the survey process. That takes her from client meetings through development of research instruments to report writing and production, with special attention to quality and timeliness of reports. Jan's responsibilities also include the administration of Exhibit Surveys' exhibition audits and their compliance with the industry's EEIAC standards.
An active member of the International Association for Exhibition Management (IAEM), Jan presently serves as Co-vice Chair of the New York Area Chapter; previous positions include secretary and treasurer. She also has received the Diamond Service Award from the chapter for dedicated service.
Jan earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the College of William and Mary, Williamsburg, Va.
Her interests include swimming and bridge, and she is an active community volunteer in her township's administration.
Executive Director, Strategic Research Development
Jeff Stanley deepened his already extensive credentials in research and marketing with his move to Exhibit Surveys, Inc., in August 2005. In this position, he is developing new research tools and expanding existing ESI products specifically for show managers and producers.
During a 15-year tenure at Ziff-Davis publishing and tradeshow divisions, he discovered a real penchant for explaining the stories behind the numbers in market research. Eventually he oversaw a department of four that handled research for 25 domestic and international tradeshows, where he created a research program to specifically help technology vendors understand their event participation and their buyers' behavior. Most recently, he served as research director at MediaLive International.
He has been featured as a speaker at conference programs put on by the Silicon Valley chapter of the American Marketing Association (AMA), Society of Independent Show Organizers (SISO), and CEMA-The I.T. Event Marketing Community.
He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.
Jeff enjoys road biking, dog training, and collecting the top 500 rock and roll albums of the last century.
Director, Information Technology and Professional Development.
Since joining Exhibit Surveys, Inc., in 1993, Bud Flom has served as assistant project manager, project manager, marketing manager and now director of information services and technology. In this role, he is responsible for all aspects of automation and technology, including communication systems and project scheduling and profitability assessment programs. Following his retirement from the U.S. Army after 20 years of military service, Bud spent five years with New York Life Insurance Company before joining Exhibit Surveys, Inc. His very active involvement with the Military Officers Association of America (formerly The Retired Officers Association) has included leadership roles such as treasurer, vice president, and president of the Central Jersey chapter. He also has been a speaker at the Exhibitor Show.
Bud attended Penn State University and finished his schooling at the University of Maryland, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science.
Vice President, Sales and Marketing
With Exhibit Surveys, Inc., since 1988, Joe Federbush's primary responsibilities are to develop new business and increase existing business with corporate and exhibitor clients.
Joe sells and designs strategic measurement programs that help companies and event producers measure their return on investment (ROI) for their large programs in a highly cost-effective way.
From 1991 to 1998, Joe conducted project management research for Exhibit Surveys, initiating some of the companies earliest Internet-based research and working on studies in South America and Europe. During a three-year hiatus from Exhibit Surveys, he worked for HealthAnswers.com, Millward Brown Intelliquest, and CMGI/Engage Media. When he returned to Exhibit Surveys, he opened the company's Texas office.
Joe is an active member of Trade Show Exhibitors Association (TSEA,) the International Association for Exhibition Management (IAEM,) and the Healthcare Convention Exhibitors Association (HCEA).
He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Monmouth University, Long Branch, N.J. When he is not running marathons, Joe volunteers for various charities.
